Rear Admiral Ron Horton, USN, Retired

We are very pleased to announce that our special guest for Saturday, October 14th, 2017 will be Rear Admiral Ron Horton, USN, Retired.

Admiral Horton served as head of naval logistics in the Western Pacific, commanded USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) for over three years, and was a naval aviator and commanded Strike Fighter Squadron 192.

He will deliver a talk over lunch entitled, "The Ride of a LIfetime", regaling us with the highlights of his career and experiences in the USN.

Retiring is probably one of the hardest yet fulfilling things to do. I remember when my father retired, he took it well, but at the same time, he said that it was hard for him to do so. Mainly because he was doing the same thing for over forty years. And for it to be taken away in an instant is a really hard thing to process. But I am glad that he is finally retired because he has been working hard for as long as I can remember and he deserves to finally take a break.
