One BROADSIDE! Token
What is a BROADSIDE?
A BROADSIDE! is a token that you can buy here, before the convention, or that you can buy at the convention itself.
You may also receive a BROADSIDE! as a prize for participating/excelling in/winning one or more of our games.
GMs get one or more for free, for volunteering to run games.
A BROADSIDE! is "used" or "fired" by walking up to a game that is currently running and handing your token to the game's GM. "Firing" a BROADSIDE! in this way will require that GM to introduce a sudden wrinkle or event in his game. This may be a re-roll of someone's dice, change in the wind, the sudden appearance of reinforcements for one side or another, or a sniper shot ringing out and pinning or killing someone, etc.
What affect "firing" a BROADSIDE! has on a particular wargame will be strictly up to the GM running that wargame. You may be one of the players of that game, or you may simply be walking by or be a spectator of a particular game, when you decide to "fire" a BROADSIDE! in your possession.
So use a BROADSIDE! to cause headaches for your opponents or have fun having some influence on a game being played by others. Remember, however, that it's only a game, and all for a good cause, so have fun and don't take someone's BROADSIDE! too seriously. If they play one on your game, why not play one on theirs?
Just consider a sudden BROADSIDE!, that messes with a game, as an example of the sudden vagaries and unexpected events ithat can sometimes occur in warfare.
NOTE: A BROADSIDE! MAY NEVER BE FIRED AT A TOURNAMENT GAME.
